About
Bianca Gillanders is a professional Equine Leadership and Performance Coach; she has spent over two decades specializing in horse and human education.
Working exclusively with troubled horses for many years, Bianca has developed incredible skills in foundation horsemanship training developing her 'principles of leadership' method which establishes a solid base of education and understanding in the horse, the key to real success in any field of equine performance.
Using natural methods of communication she resolves step by step the physical, mental and emotional resistances that prevent understanding and communication from flowing easily between horse and human.
Bianca believes that horses need clear leadership and direction because this is the language they understand and find security in. Bianca empowers others to find and harness their own unique energy and ability to direct their horse effectively which creates a true partnership of trust and confidence.
Bianca has educated and started under saddle all types of horses including completely un-handled outback Station bred colts, she had the privilege of being invited to ride at Equitana in 2010 in the Ian Francis demonstration clinic on a young 3yr old mare she had trained herself.
In 2012 she was one of only 5 successful video applicants from across Australia that were asked to take part in a live audition for ‘The Way of the Horse’ Colt Starting Competition to be held at Equitana .
In front of a panel of judges (highly esteemed horseman) the applicants were asked to work with, saddle and ride an un-started (never ridden) young horse within the allocated time of 60 mins.
Bianca was the only female horse trainer and the youngest person to audition, she successfully won 3rd place in the audition which entitled her to the reserve position at Equitana (November 2012) and a definite competitor at the following ‘Way of The Horse’ colt starting competition (Nov 2014)
Bianca showcased her skills and competed successfully at TWOTH in 2014 and won second place overall, touching many people's hearts by the connection and bond she formed with the sensitive little filly she was given to work with and not compromising on her principles at any stage.
Bianca was invited to be on judging panel for the Australian Brumby Challenge in 2016 at Equitana alongside David Simons and David Manchon.
Bianca was also invited to compete in the pro division at the first Extreme Cowboy Challenge held at Equitana 2016 which was hosted by the Australian Extreme Cowgirls.
Although her main focus is on her foundation horsemanship program (Principles of Leadership) Bianca also trains, coaches and competes in the two popular equine obstacle sports Extreme Cowboy Racing (EXCA) and International Mountain Trail, these sports are a great way to test out your leadership skills and put purpose to your horsemanship .
From her own personal experiences Bianca understands and relates to how challenging our life circumstances can sometimes be but how with the right support we can find the needed courage to move forward even after the darkest of times and that our circumstances in life do not have to define us, dictate our attitude to life or hold us back from reaching our goals.
Bianca's own 'Principles of Leadership' Foundation Horsemanship program is specifically designed around the practice of breakthrough education.
This means you get to discover through a brand new set of skills what it is that is in your way to experiencing a profound difference in communication with your horse. It is not in the theory or the thinking but in the real actions you take that opens up a whole new world of understanding. The first step is moving outside of your comfort zone and trying on the skills that Bianca offers.
It is impossible to take your horsemanship UP to another level if you don't know what it is that is holding you back! By gaining insight into your horses needs and then learning how to set boundaries in a way that creates security and trust, you will establish leadership and begin to build a real foundation between you.
Bianca travels Australia wide teaching her Principles of Leadership Foundation Horsemanship program as well as offering Brave Horse Obstacle Clinics, Performance Horse Clinics and Extreme Cowboy Racing (EXCA) Clinics.
Her training base at home is the fabulous equine facility EL Castillo Equestrian Centre (Indoor Arena) in Victoria where she takes on a limited number of horses for training per month and runs weekly private lessons and regular workshops.
See her schedule of events on the calendar page for bookings or contact her if you would like to host a Clinic or Workshop in your own area, book a private lesson or inquire about her Brave Horse Training programs.
